This point about scheduling messages is interesting. @edgar/1306737523616395264

I didn’t see your point about putting burden on the team until now. I’m going to keep thinking on that @edgar/1304799385100967936

I was reacting to * “after-hours” is the same for everyone * “work-life balance” is the same for everyone * “off-balance” is assumed if you don’t work similar hours to others I agree with the point to not impose one person’s schedule on others Apologies for misinterpretting

The point about where burden is placed is interesting because I agree with that on some level, but I also agree with individuals needing to understand if the pressure is real or perceived Which I saw described well here: @polotek/1264997628342747136

After some investigation, I see Marco’s tweet was part of a chain preceded by a similar suggestion to yours. @christinemal/1264995399284273157

WRT burden, I also feel there is an amount of professionalism related to time management and prioritization that overlaps with configuring notification settings or otherwise not checking messages when they would interfere with the expected work-life balance.

Overall, I think there's a balance of burden to be shared. It will be different for different folks, but my feeling is there is some baseline “should”.

Still more thinking for me to do here, though, and I’m thankful for your above replies forcing me to think more about it.
