I want to follow people, I don't want to follow topics. There doesn't seem to be a way to turn this off Clicking the 'x' stops Twitter from suggesting that topic...how many topics does Twitter have, will have? This is spamPermalink

It used to be that I'd only see replies if I follow both people. I liked that, I follow them because I want to read their tweets and replies are a kind of tweet I do not want to see replies from accounts I don't followPermalink

There should be differentiation in prominence of RTs and likes RT≠endorsement but it means the retweeter thought it important for their followers to see. Likes are more private, and happen more frequently because of that. This messes with information hierarchy from all sides.Permalink

Again related to home feed curation. I put people in certain lists, but don't follow all people in lists for various reasons This is less spammy than suggesting topics, but still spammy. I'll go to the list when I want to see activity in the listPermalink

Granted, they let me stop showing this list in home. And I don't have many lists, so would have been able to stop all of them pretty easily. But it's still badPermalink

Yes, these are people I might want to follow, when I decide to follow them. I actually know and have interacted with these people. I like them. But my curation strategy at the moment requires that I don't follow them. You want to suggest new follows? Don't pollute my home feedPermalink

Similarly, I have lists, I know about lists. If you want me to discover new lists, put it on its own screen where I can peruse when I want to instead of distracting me from my doomscrollingPermalink

Both "Who to follow" and "Discover new Lists" give you the option to "See less often" How about "Never show me this again"?

So what am I going to do about this. Not leave Twitter, that's for sure. Lists don't seem to have all this (though they do show muted accounts 🤦) So I made a "People I Follow" list which was easy to populate using @TwListManager So far, so goodPermalink
